I noticed no Enya on EFM's playlist. Since Enya have quite a few CDs out, and since Entranced FM's collection goes back several years, I can only assume that the omission of Enya is on purpose. Is this true?
Personally, I can live without Enya's stuff, I was just curious if it fits what EntrancedFM is trying to do or not. Thanks |

Dufresne,
You are correct in your assumption that I left Enya out on purpose. Not because I don't like her. I actually love her music, I own all her albums. But just like hard core pounding trance, I am trying to stay away from new age as well. So I am not going to add any Enya, Clannad, 2002, or any of those.
Govinda, Diane Arkenstone, and Vas all come into the genre of new age but they also have enough bass line in them to set them enough apart.
In trying to find a good way to explain it the word "intensity" comes to mind and Pete's term "burn". New age doesn't provide enough of intensity and the flames go out. It is meant to be completely calming. Trance/dance provides too much and burns the fire out too quickly. So I am trying to find music that falls in the middle and provides a slow fire for the soul (boy doesn't that sound like a new ager ). _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Thanks Saffron for your reply,
I already sort of felt that Enya wasn't a good fit with the other artists and styles on EFM, but your post cleared it up nicely.
You post also served to explain a little bit more about what EntrancedFM is all about, what kind of music you want, and sort of the "vision" for lack of a better term, for the whole thing. It's always been hard for me to explain the feelings and sounds of music in words, but I kinda get what your saying about "intensity" and "burn". I'm also glad you've chosen to stay away from "hard core pounding trance." Love the station, thanks.

Thanks for the explanation Saffron. I was also curious regarding the non inclusion of Enya and this really clears things up. Plus the explanation you gave does help provide a better picture of what music you want included on entranced.fm! I look forward to seeing the future updated material as I continue to experience new music here. Keep up the great work! |

Thanks for the clarification, Saff. There is indeed a fine line regarding New Age (my fave btw) vs. Entranced. That helps a lot. |

BTW if you like Enya and On the last update of 1980s.FM two of her 80s albums were added:
