I was wondering everyone's thoughts and feelings of Vocal Trance (VT) and if it would be appropriate here on EFM? And would you like to see and listen to more of this genre of music?
I personally am a big fan of Vocal trance. A few of Saff's recent library additions particularly, Armin Van Buuren is a fine example of VT. Armin's work is most excellent, he is a perfectionist to say the least. His lyrical mixes combined with the mix of beats and rythym makes his work highly regarded world wide. And we are all very aware of another DJ by the name of Tiesto that should be considered a "Grand Mix Master" of Vocal & Trance and is a very popular selection here on EFM.
There are numerous artist in this genre of music. My personal favorite is Dj Rob Evans from the UK. He's a popular DJ on another .FM site. Unfortunately, I can not find a CD produced or release by him. His music is downloadable from another site for free, however I have his email address since I'm a fan, and I think I could coax him to donating some of his work here to EFM. Some of his mixes include, Tiesto, AVB, Blank & Jones, Sarah McLachlan, all of which are played here on EFM. But before I ask him to donate, I wanted to see everyone's reaction.
Since I've been a member and my listen time is mostly during the weekdays during my work hours, the members tend to select a wide range of music here on EFM, but there always seems to be a few Trance selections in the queue constantly. I select a lot of the more up tempo music in the afternoon, it just helps bring the pace of the work day up, it has a more vibrant beat.
Anyhow, I enjoy all of EFM's music, it's such a wide variety of music I doubt I will ever change my listening preference again.

First I want to say I really like the mixing that Rob does. I have downloaded his mixes for my own personal pleasure and would encourage all EFM listeners to do so as well.
That being said, none of his current mixes can be added to Entranced. Here is why...U.S. Licensing/Copyright.
His remixes are not currently under a record contract or label. I realize that it looks like a cd and that you can go to crystalclouds.com and download it BUT it is only for your own personal collection and not something to be broadcast, which is what EFM does.
Rob does not own the music he remixes, nor is he affiliated with a label that would license the music to be "published" for broadcast.
So why can Crystal Clouds have it available to download and play it on their radio station?
As far as the download goes, location is a big part of it, Crystal Clouds is based of the UK. Their rules and regulations are probably a lot less stringent than those in the USA. And the intent is that you only download his mixes for your own library. The radio play is also different than how EFM operates. Usually, the "DJ" plays his set for an hour and is done. An equivalent would be like me creating an hour long queue on EFM and posting my playlist in the forums. That mix can't be "picked" up by another station to broadcast.
Please post any questions you might have in regards to this any I will try to explain in further. I realize it is sort of confusing.
Hopefully, Rob will have a label soon and we can play his remixes. Even better, he will create his own music and we can add that with his permission alone.
