"Lamia seriously tried to make a modern interpretation of the original medieval religious text and music: El Llibre Vermell, or the Red Book of Montserrat. Montserrat was a popular pilgrim site in Medieval Catalan Spain where pilgrims of the Maria cultus gathered to pray to the Black Maria. The lyrics were meant as guidance for people to inspire them to behave moral. These lyrics are sung in their original form on the cd of Lamia, and are in the booklet in the Latin language, as well as in English and Spanish. Musicwise however the choice has been made for a synthetic modern electronic approach that would come close to the original intensity of the music. And this is all echieved with La Maquina De Dios, but it also keeps it all on the serious side as well."
