Although there are different types of quad bikes Kevin Johnson Limited Jersey , they are all of a similar shape, and are driven in the same fashion. Unlike a traditional motorbike, a quad bike has four wheels, offering more stability than their two wheeled rivals. However, like a bike, a rider will straddle the seat of their quad bike, using their hands to accelerate and brake, and turning the handlebars to enable the machine to be steered.
All quad bikes have this functionality in common, but there the differences end. Some models are appropriate for use on public roads, while others are purely for an off road setting. Some models are designed for speed, others for utility. Different models are better suited to different age groups, and carry different sized engines. Let?s consider these differences in more detail.
Sport vs. Utility
On the whole, quad bikes can loosely fall into one of two categories; sport or utility. Those quads classified within the sport category are commonly used for recreational purposes. They are usually smaller than the utility models, with quick acceleration, two wheel drive and a manual transmission, therefore it is usually these models that can be seen in quad bike races.
Utility quad bikes on the other hand are larger and are more commonly four wheel drive to enable them to tow trailers or other vehicles, as well as to cope with more difficult terrain.
On-Road vs. Off-Road
Traditionally quad bikes were designed for off-road use, helping in agricultural settings with their ability to traverse uneven ground. As their popularity increased, so did the requirement to make these machines road legal to allow owners to drive themselves to their off-road locations.
On-road quad bikes feature the additions that are required by law to make a vehicle road legal, such as mirrors, lights and a horn. These vehicles must also be taxed, insured and have a valid registration number. Both utility and sport quad bikes can be classified as road legal, assuming they meet the specified standards.
Power
As you look at different models of quad bike, you will soon notice that there are different engine sizes. The smallest quad bikes start with engines of around 50cc. More powerful models can feature engines of up to 1,000cc, though an engine size that large is rarely seen except in racing circles.
The different power outputs of the engines are a means to class the suitability of the vehicles for different age groups. On the whole, bikes with an engine larger than 110cc are only suitable for those aged over 16, whereas those between 70 and 110cc are suitable for children between the age of 12 and 16, though only for off-road use. Likewise smaller quad bikes with engines smaller than 70cc can be used for children above the age of 6.

The U.N. Security Council on Monday unanimously approved new sanctions on North Korea in a watered-down resolution that eliminated a ban on all oil imports and an international asset freeze on the government and leader Kim Jong Un that the Trump administration wanted.
The resolution does ban North Korea from importing all natural gas liquids and condensates. But it caps Pyongyang's imports of crude oil at the level of the last 12 months, and it limits the import of refined petroleum products to 2 million barrels a year.
It also bans all textile exports and prohibits countries from authorizing new work permits for North Korean workers — two key sources of hard currency for the northeast Asian nation.
U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley told the council after the vote that ""these are by far the strongest measures ever imposed on North Korea ... but we all know these steps only work if all nations implement them completely and aggressively.""
""Today we are saying the world will never accept a nuclear armed North Korea,"" she said. ""We are done trying to prod the regime to do the right thing"" and now are instead taking steps to prevent it ""from doing the wrong thing.""
Haley reiterated that the United States does not want war and said ""North Korea has not yet passed the point of no return."" She said if Pyongyang gives up its nuclear program and proves it can live in peace, the world will live in peace with it.
The resolution represents a swift response to North Korea's sixth and strongest nuclear test explosion Sept. 3, which it said was a hydrogen bomb, and to its escalating launches of increasingly sophisticated ballistic missiles that it says can reach the United States.
The text was agreed to after final negotiations between the U.S. and China. Haley praised the ""strong relationship"" between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping for enabling the resolution's adoption.
But its provisions are a significant climb-down from the toughest-ever sanctions that the Trump administration proposed in the initial draft resolution it circulated last Tuesday, especially on oil, where a complete ban could have crippled North Korea's economy.
The cap on the import of petroleum products could have an impact but North Korea will still be able to import the same amount of crude oil that is has this year.
North Korea imports nearly 2.2 million barrels a year in petroleum products, so the 2 million barrel cap in the resolution would represent a 10 percent cut. But the U.S. official said North Korea now receives about 4.5 million barrels of refined petroleum products, which would mean a more than 50 percent cut.
The textile ban is significant. Textiles are North Korea's main source of export revenue after coal, iron, seafood and other minerals that have already been severely restricted by previous U.N. resolutions.
North Korean textile exports in 2016 totaled $752.5 million, accounting for about one-fourth of its total $3 b.
