|
Hello everyone,
It appears we need to have some sort of etiquette guideline for selecting some of the long tracks (tracks that last more than 30 mins) that are now in EFM's library. Here is a couple of suggestions:
- Before selecting a long track, be mindful if the queue is at or over the 2.5 hour duration. Adding a long track to the queue when it is already long may cause the queue selection to disable (at the 3.5 hour length).
- Before selecting a long track, please notify other members of your selection choice.
- Announce the time frame of when you will be selecting the track (ie. In 5 mins or so, I will be selecting one of the "INSERT TRACK NAME HERE" long tracks) This will allow others to select a track or tracks prior to the long track beginning.
- If there is a long track already in the queue, please try to allow for the first track to begin playing before selecting another long track.
I too enjoy listening to the long tracks however, we should all try to practice some courtesy when making our selections. All of our VIP and Non VIP members are spread out in different time zones across the world. Please be considerate when selecting these long tracks. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to respond to this topic and I will pass it on to
JERIC or BQ.
Thanks, Max _________________ My quest for never ending Trance and EDM has me close by - EFM still in my heart. |

Max,
At times a long track has been selected by a member who didn't realize the length of the track. Usually off of someone else's favorites.
Is there a way to flag these tracks as being different? A colored title name perhaps.
Failing that is it possible to enable a confirmation pop up. "Do you want to select this track that is over 15 minutes long?" or something to that affect?
Thanks,

Leon,
I am not aware of a way to flag long tracks. Creating a separate color or segregating a longer track would be a somewhat difficult task for the admins. As mentioned before, a member may select what ever they want to listen too. So far, most members have paid attention to the queue and haven't gone over board with selecting multiple long tracks.
In the past, long tracks were not even included in the library. They have slowly been added and most everyone seems to like a continual mix of music every now and then. If there comes a time when the long tracks become a nuisance, they will be shortened or removed.
I appreciate your suggestion, but I am hesitant to bring up any issues we all may have with the long tracks. All members need to continue watching the queue as closely as they can prior to selecting a long track.

Long tracks are soon to be part of the past. I will be removing any tracks that are longer than 20 minutes (I am considering 15 minutes but I will see how things play out)
Thanks Devin for giving SAM a break. Sorry I am making it a little more difficult. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music.
